About Hannah Assoulin

MA, LPC Associate (she/her)

I’ve always been drawn to people’s stories—the way we make sense of our experiences, the parts we show the world, and the parts we keep hidden. That curiosity eventually led me to several years in nursing, where I spent years caring for people in some of their most vulnerable moments— sprinting between call lights, getting unexpectedly intimate with other people’s bodily fluids, and trying to hold compassion while running on no sleep. It taught me two things: my calling is to be with people in their hardest moments, and I needed a path that treated the whole human, not just the symptoms (and preferably one where I wasn’t on my feet for 12+ hours straight).

That realization sent me down a holistic wellness rabbit hole— yoga, attachment styles, breathwork, silent meditation retreats (yes, ten full days without talking), plant medicines, and everything in between. I learned a lot, but I also noticed how so much of the Western wellness world feels inaccessible, expensive, or performative. What I discovered, over and over, was that the most powerful thing wasn’t the retreats or the trendiest wellness tools that they try to sell us so we can finally be "healed"— it was coming back to myself, to my body, and learning to truly listen. And the work doesn’t have to be done alone— we heal best with guidance, support, and someone walking alongside us. The journey is easier when you don’t have to go at it alone.

Now, my passion is helping others find that same connection— to themselves, their stories, and even the parts they’ve tucked away or tried to ignore. In therapy, I blend somatic work, parts work, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and honest conversation. Sessions with me are deep, but they’re never boring. Our work together isn’t about perfection— it’s about curiosity, presence, and facing what comes up, one step at a time.

When I’m not in session, you’ll usually find me in nature, doing crafty things, writing bad poetry, dancing like nobody’s watching, or singing (while Lola, my Pomchi, judges quietly from the couch).

My Philosophy

I take a relational, trauma-informed approach that goes beyond talk therapy.

Together, we take a holistic view of all of you— your trauma, your environment, your health, and the ways oppression and life experience have shaped you.  Using EMDR, somatic practices, mindfulness and self-compassion work, attachment theory, and nervous system regulation, we do real work in the body—not just your mind—so you see actual results instead of getting stuck in thought loops.

You’ll learn to trust your own intuition, regulate your nervous system, and reconnect with yourself.  My goal is that you leave therapy feeling empowered, with the tools to live fully, authentically, and with more presence.
